Throughout the year, we are dedicated to delivering More Than Energy, empowering our customers, strengthening communities and build a more resilient grid. Our employees made meaningful change as they helped increase access to STEM education, provide new career opportunities, and enhance the reliability of energy services – all with the goal of improving lives across our region.
We supported local children exploring science and technology with the opening of the Pepco STEM lab at the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy. This state-of-the-art lab inspires students to pursue their passion for STEM with hands-on learning and technology. Working with the Department of Employment Services, our team also celebrated the 250th graduate of our DC Infrastructure Academy Pepco Utility Training Programing, which gives local residents the tools they need for rewarding careers in energy.
Behind the scenes, our team was hard at work updating critical infrastructure to better serve our customers. The addition of our Capital Grid Project’s Mt. Vernon substation and upgrade of the Harvard substation will ensure our communities receive more reliable service, support local businesses, and keep pace with the region’s growth.
Our team’s commitment to the community also celebrated the reopening of the Pepco Edison Place Gallery following the pandemic pause that began in March 2020. As a cultural hub for our residents, the Gallery showcases the rich artistry that defines our region and celebrates what makes D.C. a vibrant place to live.
These milestones energize us as we look ahead to 2025 and the opportunity to further build brighter futures for our communities.
