After one month of deployment, Delmarva Power line workers and support staff, along with colleagues from Atlantic City Electric, Pepco, BGE, ComEd, and PECO, who have been working long days to help restore power to the communities of Puerto Rico have returned.
The work our crews performed was difficult, but impactful and rewarding. Efforts were focused in the Caguas region – one of the hardest hit areas of Puerto Rico whose residents have been without power since September.
“It’s been a very rewarding experience knowing that people have been out for six months…just to see the pure joy on their face when we come down the street knowing that their power is soon to get on,” said Chad Rolan, journeyman lineman. “It makes our job just that more important and makes us know that we’re needed.”
