Delmarva Power Hosts Future Leaders During Careers in Energy Week

Delmarva Power joined utilities across the country in celebrating Careers in Energy Week, a national initiative led by the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) that helps connect energy companies with the next generation of industry professionals. This year, we took part in two impactful events designed to empower students across Delaware and Maryland with the skills, experiences, and connections needed to build rewarding careers in energy and beyond.

Exploring Energy Careers at Delmarva Power’s On-Site Expo

With the help of our partners, Exelon IT and Junior Achievement of Delaware, we transformed our conference room into an interactive learning hub for the second annual Careers in Energy Week Expo, opening our doors for students to learn more about STEM education and explore opportunities in the utility sector.

Students gained a firsthand look at the latest in energy technology — from electric vehicles and bucket trucks to virtual reality exhibits and coding activities — and had the chance to hear directly from our team members during a career panel discussion, where they learned how to build a career in energy.

Careers in Energy Week is about creating meaningful connections between the energy industry and the communities we serve. By partnering with local schools and community organizations, we are investing in the next generation of talent who will keep our region strong, sustainable, and connected.

Developing Career Readiness at Delaware State University

We joined Delaware State University’s College of Business for the Delaware Executive Exchange Program Day (DEEP) — a professional development conference focused on helping students strengthen their soft skills and gain confidence as emerging professionals.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to network with representatives from local, state, and national organizations, including members of Delmarva Power, to learn what it takes to become future-ready in today’s evolving workforce.
