Last month, we transformed the parking lot at James Hubert Blake High School in Cloverly, Md. into an interactive learning hub. We partnered with Hitachi to showcase the real-world application of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, otherwise known as STEM education. The event welcomed 70 enthusiastic 10th-grade AP students, all eager to deepen their understanding of electrons and physics this semester.
The students participated in various engaging sessions about energy and robotics. We showcased 10 different field trucks, each highlighting a unique aspect of our daily operations. One of the main attractions was our safety trailer, where students witnessed firsthand how our crews safely respond to a variety of real-world situations. Through lively demonstrations, our team brought classroom concepts to life, showing how science and technology are applied every day to keep our communities powered and running safely.
It was a rewarding morning filled with discovery, teamwork, and inspiration. Events like these underscore the importance of hands-on STEM education and Pepco’s commitment to support STEM education across our service area. We’re proud to support the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers!
