Atlantic City Electric Launches New Community Scholars Program

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlantic City Electric has provided additional support to our customers and communities. We understand that this pandemic has taken a toll on  customers in our service area. As an essential business and your local energy company for over 100 years, we recognize the vital role that we play in assisting our communities as best as possible through these challenging times.

As the pandemic continues, we’ve been working to identify ways we can help our region’s economic recovery. To support students and prepare our region’s future skilled workforce,

Atlantic City Electric launched a Communities Scholars Program that provides a total $50,000 in grants over the 2020-2021 academic year.  The grants will be made directly to colleges to supplement ongoing student assistance programs.

“Rowan College of South Jersey is appreciative of this generous donation being made to our Cumberland and Gloucester students by Atlantic City Electric,” stated College President Frederick Keating. “This gift is evidence of the commitment and desire to aid students in the pursuit of a higher education and will make a difference in the lives of our students, particularly during this time of economic uncertainty.”

In addition to this education grant, Atlantic City Electric’s COVID-19 relief efforts have included $75,000 in contributions to local organizations that help families with basic needs.   To learn more about how we continue to assist customers, visit atlanticcityelectric.com/help.
