“These awareness months, like Black History Month, opens the doors to learn more about particular cultures, but don’t let it just stop there…use that information to further your research and conversations so that it really becomes a part of everyday life.”

Virginia Jones, Sr. Work Planning Supervisor for Pepco, strives to live by this message as a member of Exelon’s African American Resource Alliance (EAARA). Through her work with EAARA, Virginia has become a prime example of how employee resource groups such as EAARA can be a powerful tool for employees to gain knowledge about other cultures and for companies to tap into in order to foster greater inclusion, that not only lasts for a month, but continues throughout the year.
