In 2023 Public Sector Solutions Group (PS2G) launched the Walter Reed Infrastructure Academy with a goal to provide equitable access to high-demand, well-paying jobs in cybersecurity and IT. Pepco and our parent company, Exelon, partnered with PS2G to provide a classroom curriculum review, guest speakers and a six-month apprenticeship with the Exelon IT team.

This program partnership supports economic mobility for residents in the region, while also helping to fill critical roles that are needed to support a secure and resilient energy grid.

Two apprentices from the inaugural 2023 class are now full-time employees at Exelon, Dwight Washington and Ardell Boatwright. We spoke with both employees last year about their experience.

Exelon is currently hosting ten apprentices who are gaining hands on experience in the IT and cyber security space.
