Celebrating Culture Through Cuisine: NEXIS Hosts Immigrant Heritage Month Potluck

On June 25, 2025, the Network of Exelon Immigrants and Second Generation (NEXIS) brought together employees from across the company for a celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month. Held in person across multiple regions—including Edison Place in Washington, DC—the event featured a cultural exchange of food, where participants shared dishes from their home countries and presented the stories behind them.

The potluck was more than just a feast—it was a journey through heritage. Attendees brought traditional dishes such as, Indian butter chicken, Jamaican Jerk wings, Ghanaian peanut butter soup, and Vietnamese spring rolls. Each dish was accompanied by a brief presentation from the contributor, offering insight into its cultural significance and personal meaning. The event highlighted the diversity within Exelon and created space for storytelling, connection, and mutual appreciation.

Organized by the Pepco Holdings NEXIS Board, the event was a reminder of the richness that immigrant and second-generation employees bring to the workplace.

This celebration exemplifies Exelon’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). By honoring the unique backgrounds of its employees, the company fosters a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Events like the NEXIS potluck not only build community but also deepen understanding across teams and departments.
