Delivering More Than Energy is at the heart of what we do, and our annual Pepco Golf Classic is one of many ways we bring employees, business leaders, our partners, and local organizations together to build more vibrant communities.
For our 19th annual event, hosted every fall and supported by the PHI Community Foundation, we raised more than $596,000 to support Mission of Love Charities, Inc., Interfaith Works, and Greater Washington Urban League, all of which are making a unique impact through their programs and services.
Whether offering medical care at their on-site clinic, providing necessities like food and diapers for families, or working with local groups to provide job training and certifications, Mission of Love Charities, Inc. is powering a brighter future for our region. Our Golf Classic funds will support their project to revamp the former Lyndon Hill school in Capitol Heights, MD, into their new operations hub, empowering the organization to expand its offerings with a focus on new workforce development training programs.
“You want to help your entire community and address its unique needs,” said Adenia Bradley, CEO of Mission of Love Charities. “It is a blessing to partner with organizations like Pepco – who truly believe in your work – and allow us to make a bigger impact on the lives of others.”
The Golf Classic also supports the Interfaith Works “Connections Program,” which provides emergency shelter, case management, rent and utility assistance, and other essential needs to residents.
“For the last 19 years, our partnership with Pepco has been vital to providing our community with the assistance it needs,” said Courtney Hall, CEO at Interfaith Works. “Their support and trust enable us to continue addressing the issue of poverty in Montgomery County.”
Golf Classic contributions to the Greater Washington Urban League also drive growth by supporting education, economic empowerment, and civic engagement. Their work includes financial literacy education, affordable housing resources, health and wellness programs, and more.
These organizations energize our neighborhoods and create new opportunities for our community members, and we are proud to support their missions.
