At Delmarva Power, we’re dedicated to delivering More Than Energy. This year, our team focused on creating meaningful change by directly supporting our communities and driving efforts to strengthen our region in impactful ways.
We helped build the next generation of industry leaders through workforce development programs that offer residents with the skills they need for a successful career in the utility industry. Partnering with Cecil College, Delaware Technical Community College (DTCC) and the Forum for Advancing Minority Engineers (FAME), we had the chance to honor recent workforce development graduates and help build a stronger, more resilient local economy.
Through our STEM education commitment, we’re reaching children at younger ages to help foster that development pipeline. We opened the STEM center at Academia Antonia Alonso Charter School (La Academia), which is more than just a school lab – it’s a space for students to pursue their passions, gain hands-on-experience, and discover exciting educational and career paths. To further inspire the future of energy, we hosted a Job Shadow event with Junior Achievement of Delaware, offering students a unique glimpse into our company and encouraging them to explore a career in the utility sector.
In Partnership with the Maryland Public Service Commission, we’re also helping all of our customers transition to clean energy to help Maryland meet its energy goals. This year we installed the 100th electric vehicle charger in Ocean City, Maryland! Working together, we can accelerate the transition to EVs and make charging more accessible for our community.
We also made progress on several significant infrastructure projects, ranging from an LNG Facility Upgrade which offers increased storage so we can help manage customer costs to natural gas, to miles of transmission lines that have been upgraded for customer reliability.
We’re proud of the progress Delmarva Power has made to build brighter communities in 2024, and we’re looking forward to an exciting 2025!
