Workforce Development Partnership Continues to Deliver Results

Pepco, our parent company Exelon, and Public Sector Solutions Group (PS2G) recently celebrated the latest class to graduate from the Walter Reed Infrastructure Academy. Thirty three individuals completed a 12-week cybersecurity and IT training program aimed at preparing the graduates for careers in the energy and technology sectors.

Certificates were awarded to each graduate as a symbol of their achievements and a reminder that the skills learned throughout the program will equip them to protect energy infrastructure, power innovation, and serve their communities.

About the Walter Reed Infrastructure Program:

Launched in 2023, the program was created to offer residents from underserved communities in Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County and Prince George’s County in Maryland to access practical, industry-aligned training. With five successful cohorts to date, PS2G has emphasized real-world experience and industry certification to prepare participants for long-term employment in high-demand fields.

Exelon and Pepco continue to support the program by organizing networking events, facility tours, and six-month apprenticeships offering hands-on experience in areas like software testing, project management, and cybersecurity policy. These efforts help participants build vital skills for navigating the digital transformation of the energy sector.
