Atlantic City Electric Sparks Inspiration During Its First-Ever Careers in Energy Week

Atlantic City Electric joined utilities across the country in celebrating our first-ever Careers in Energy Week, leading local outreach efforts to introduce students to the people, technology, and purpose behind today’s energy careers.

As part of the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD)’s national celebration, we proudly hosted Atlantic City Electric Energize Day  — an engaging, interactive event aimed at helping students discover the exciting and meaningful careers that power our communities.

As part of #CareersinEnergyWeek, we brought Atlantic City Electric Energize Day to students — giving them the opportunity to see equipment in action, explore the tools our crews use every day, and hear stories from professionals who’ve built exciting, stable careers in the energy industry.

Held at Pleasantville High School in Pleasantville, New Jersey, Energize Day brought together 270 students, along with employees and community partners, for a day of learning and connection. Volunteers from our External Affairs and Operations teams led engaging demonstrations, shared personal career journeys, and showcased the tools and technology that keep our neighborhoods powered every day.

By connecting directly with our employees, students learned that careers in energy are not only stable and well-paying, but also deeply rooted in service — helping their own communities stay safe, connected, and resilient. Events like these help us show that the energy industry offers opportunities for everyone, from lineworkers and engineers to customer service professionals and sustainability leaders.

Why It Matters
Careers in Energy Week serves as a nationwide platform for energy companies to connect with their communities and showcase the diverse career paths available in the industry. Since 2010, the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) and member companies have worked hand in hand to spread awareness about these careers through coordinated events across the country.

By joining this initiative for the first time, we’re expanding our commitment to shaping future generations of energy leaders and advancing STEM education that will power tomorrow.
