Delivering safe, reliable energy is just the beginning of how we power communities. Every year, our team members bring that same dedication to numerous causes across South Jersey – supporting 158 nonprofit organizations in 2024 alone. They help power our region, and we’re proud to recognize Hollie Wilkes and John Garth Sr. as 2025 Exelon Foundation Employee Volunteer Award recipients.
For 20 years, the Exelon Foundation has celebrated volunteers that go above and beyond, pairing their invaluable service with $5,000 grants to amplify the impact of the nonprofits they support. This year, we gathered at CSC Station in Wilmington, DE, to celebrate Hollie, John, and their dedication to providing More Than Energy to our community.
“What makes this program so special is that it shines a spotlight on the people behind the work — colleagues who invest their time, energy, and hearts into their communities,” said Jaclyn Cantler, Senior Vice President of Government Regulatory & External Affairs at Atlantic City Electric. “Their actions inspire others, strengthen local organizations, and help build a better, brighter future for all.”

- Hollie Wilkes, Real Estate Specialist
Samaritan Health & Hospice
For Hollie, volunteering with Samaritan Health & Hospice is deeply personal. When her mother entered hospice care, Samaritan surrounded her family with compassion, dignity, and unwavering support. Inspired by that experience, Hollie now dedicates her time to ensuring other families receive the same level of care during life’s most difficult moments. Through her service, she helps extend Samaritan’s critical programs — from medical services to grief counseling, music and pet therapy, and spiritual support — to more families across South Jersey. Her story is a powerful reminder of how personal hardship can be transformed into meaningful impact for others.
- John Garth, Sr., Senior Communications Technician, NERC
Key Recreation, Inc.
For more than 20 years, John has been a cornerstone of Egg Harbor City through his work with Key Recreation. As a coach, board member, and community leader, he’s helped keep local programs strong and meaningful for generations of families. One of his proudest contributions is the creation of Dillon’s Dock, a fishing spot built in memory of his late son. The dock has become a gathering place for the community and, through ongoing fundraising and events, provides scholarships for local high school graduates. Beyond his work with Key Recreation, John also serves as a volunteer fireman and active member of veterans’ organizations. His leadership and generosity have left a lasting mark on his community.
