Last month, Delmarva Power partnered with Energize Delaware to bring our customer-first approach to life at The Resurrection Center in Wilmington. At the heart of the event was our new Mobile Assistance Van — an on-the-go resource designed to meet customers where they are and provide real-time energy assistance and bill support. The day was all about making energy assistance accessible. Our team provided on-site bill support and guided customers through key affordability programs, including the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund, Single Stop, and Assistance Finder. We also enrolled customers in free home energy audits through Energize Delaware, giving them tools to reduce costs for the long term.
The event demonstrated significant impact, with 285 customers receiving assistance through the efforts of 20 employee volunteers, including members of the Latino Employee Resource Group who provided Spanish-language support. Why does this matter? Customers shared heartfelt gratitude and stories of financial hardship, reminding us how vital face-to-face community support can be.
