Today, We Celebrate Our Lineworkers

July 10 is National Lineworker Appreciation Day, a day to recognize the men and women who work tirelessly, day-in and day-out, to provide safe and reliable energy service.

Today we celebrate our electric field workers, including those who work at substations, on underground and overhead systems, and in other areas of the local energy grid.  Not only do they respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week during storms and other emergencies, they are continuing to perform essential work to keep homes and businesses power during the challenging conditions we are experiencing with the COVID-19 pandemic

Our lineworkers have a well-deserved reputation for answering the call for help, whether it’s responding for our customers when storms hit in southern New Jersey or volunteering when others are in need across the country. And it’s their hard work every day that is bolstering the local energy grid’s reliability and resiliency against storms, and providing record reliability for our customers.

At Atlantic City Electric, we are committed to providing our customers with a modern, reliable and resilient energy grid, and our lineworkers make that possible. The work on Atlantic City Electric’s energy infrastructure has contributed to customers’ experiencing continued improvements in the reliability of their energy service. In fact, over the past five years, ongoing investments in the local energy grid and new innovative technologies have driven a 22 percent decrease in the frequency of electric outages.

Atlantic City Electric joins the Electric Edison Institute, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and energy companies across the nation, including Exelon sister companies BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco, in honoring our lineworkers.

Join us on this day in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineworker on  Facebook or Twitter.
