On November 26, 2024, Pepco partnered with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington to host a heartwarming Thanksgiving dinner for 300 individuals experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. The event, held at our Edison Place Gallery, marked the beginning of Catholic Charities’ season of giving. Guests enjoyed a festive sit-down dinner, while our employees distributed warm winter coats and toiletry kits. This annual tradition, part of Catholic Charities’ St. Maria’s Meals program, fosters a sense of community and togetherness among guests and volunteers.
The evening was hosted by Catholic Charities President and CEO Jim Malloy and our President and CEO Tyler Anthony, who welcomed guests and delivered inspiring remarks. More than two dozen volunteers from Pepco and Catholic Charities came together to serve meals embodying the true spirit of Thanksgiving, highlighting the power of community and the impact of our collective efforts in supporting those in need.
Pepco has proudly supported the annual event since St. Maria’s Meals served its first Thanksgiving dinner, more than 10 years ago. “This wonderful tradition fosters a sense of hope and connectedness while providing 300 guests with essentials, a warm winter coat and a hearty meal,” says Tyler Anthony. “Through our partnership, we provide support to the people who need it the most.”
As we reflect on this event, we are reminded of the importance of community partnerships and the difference we can make when we come together.
