That’s why we partner with organizations like DC SCORES, who believe in championing the next generation. Together, we’re determined to ensure all students, regardless of background, can experience the joys of childhood and learning through hands-on activities.

Together with DC SCORES and D.C. United, we recently sponsored a Field Day event at Raymond Elementary School, providing local students with an end-of-year festival filled with interactive activities like tug-of-war, egg races, and a moon bounce. D.C. United, who is also DC SCORES’ official community partner, hosted a soccer activity and fun giveaways. Beyond the games, volunteers from Pepco led a hands-on STEM workshop, allowing students to catch a glimpse into the energy industry.

Supporting DC SCORES allows us to empower D.C.’s future leaders. Our relationship with DC SCORES spans many years, but recently we enhanced our partnership by sponsoring Raymond Elementary School’sDC SCORES team. “It’s not just putting the Pepco logo on the Raymond [Elementary School’s soccer] jerseys – Pepco shows up and shows out at every single event. If you go to any Raymond soccer game, there will be Pepco volunteers cheering on the team. If you go to Raymond’s poetry slam – in the audience will be Pepco,” says Tony Francavilla, chief development officer, DC SCORES.

“I think what’s beautiful about the partnership is that it’s gone beyond support of the DC SCORES team, now Pepco supports the entire Raymond School. Raymond recently moved into a new building that’s energy efficient, and Pepco helped Raymond with their service project and educated the students on sustainability, and they’ve made their mark through that project.”
