Decking the Halls with Holiday Cheer

The holidays bring great cheer and joy in our communities and we celebrate this wonderful time of year as an opportunity to give back, especially to those who need a helping hand. Here are just a few ways our employees are giving back this season in the communities where we live and work:

Adopt a Family – Employees are spreading cheer by delivering holiday gifts through Volunteers of America. Employees adopt children for the holidays and personally shop for them and wrap their presents. Collected gifts are given to 65 families, including more than 250 children and parents. Gifts are delivered to Volunteers of America for parents to pick up so their families can enjoy the spirit of giving with gifts to open over the holidays.

Coats for Kids – On Dec. 5, employees joined the Green Flag Children Charities from the New Jersey Motorsports Park to provide winter coats to nearly 500 local children. The team played elves for the day, assisting children with selecting a coat, hat, gloves, scarf, and book, and serving them lunch—all capped off by meeting Santa!

“I have participated in this event for several years because it is different than just giving the children a gift,” said Marcus Fortune who works in our Drafting Department. “You get to see the expression on their faces, and they are so appreciative. The children are so thankful to have such a great experience and something to keep them warm all winter long.”

With giving at the heart of this season, our employees are happy to spread holiday cheer and make a difference. We look forward to next year being another great year of giving and supporting hundreds of non-profit organizations across our service area.
