In partnership with Mill Creek Apiary, a small, local apiary located in Medford, N.J., Atlantic City Electric installed and has begun managing three honeybee hives at our Carneys Point office. The initiative came to life with the goal of spreading awareness of the honeybee’s valuable contributions to the ecosystem and further enhance our commitment to support the environment across our service territory.

The first batch of honey was harvested in June 2022 at the first official Hive Dive. During the event employees received an overview of honeybee biology, hive dynamics, challenges facing honeybees and the effects of the decline of pollinator populations.

Additional Hive Dives are being planned, so keep an ear out for the buzz on our sweetest new initiative.
