2024 was a year filled with moments underscoring our continued commitment to service, thanks to the power of teamwork from our dedicated employees and community partners. Through all four seasons, we worked together to create spaces for community connection, champion sustainability, and inspire innovation.
Our team plays a critical role in driving progress across the region, as evidenced by not only their time spent volunteering but also their record-breaking contributions to our Employee Giving Campaign. Together with our sister companies, Atlantic City Electric raised more than $500,000 to support local organizations through the United Way.
Here’s how we made a difference in 2024, together:
Lighting Up the Holidays with the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots
The joy of the holiday season came to life for children in New Jersey through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program and our partnership with IBEW Local 210 and Toys for Tots. At both events, Atlantic City Electric volunteers spent the day as “elves,” generously purchasing, sorting, and assembling gifts to spread cheer and hope to families in need.
Supporting Mental Health Awareness with AFSP
Together with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), we walked in solidarity with those impacted by suicide for the Out of the Darkness Walk in Atlantic City, as part of the movement to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
Building Playgrounds to Bring Communities Together
Over 100 volunteers from Atlantic City Electric, IBEW 210, KABOOM!, and Gateway Community Action Partnership built a brand-new playground for the borough of Paulsboro, which now serves as a vibrant hub to inspire imagination, community, and the joy of play for years to come.
Investing in Environmental Sustainability
Our commitment to environmental stewardship continues to grow through our collaboration with Sustainable Jersey. This year, we awarded $25,000 to support seven sustainability projects across South Jersey that will help provide cleaner water, restore native plant species, increase access to emergency services, and improve recreational facilities in our area.
Inspiring Future Innovators Through STEM Education
Through our partnerships with Rowan College of South Jersey and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project, we launched the first-ever ACE-Celerate! STEM camp. This initiative gave 40 local students a deeper understanding of the energy industry through immersive experiences and hands-on projects, including making nachos in a solar oven and building motors with wires, batteries, and magnets.
Heading into the new year, our teams are ready to continue delivering More Than Energy. Together with our employees, partners, and neighbors, we’ll keep empowering our communities and making South Jersey a place of opportunity for all.
